The two tools, in one sentence each
PrEP is medication taken before possible exposure that prevents HIV with about 99% effectiveness. DoxyPEP is a single antibiotic dose taken after sex that sharply cuts syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. Together they cover most of what's coverable in sexual health — and both can be prescribed by telehealth.

Why trust this site
Every clinical page here is written for readers, not algorithms, and reviewed by licensed providers at The Practice, a veteran-owned medical clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Pages carry the reviewer's name and a last-updated date, and we revise as guidance evolves. When the evidence has honest limitations — and in this field it sometimes does — we say so on the page.
